Louis Fontvieille wins Nice’s Pokémon Champions Regional Championship
Louis Fontvieille won Nice’s Pokémon Champions division; Eduardo Cunha was runner-up, with Sanvito and Pero rounding out the top four.
Before we dive in
Regional Championships are organised Pokémon competitions, with separate divisions for different games. These results concern the Video Game Championships played in Pokémon Champions, not the physical Trading Card Game or Pokémon GO standings.
A team list records the Pokémon and battle choices a competitor brought. A successful list can explain a tournament strategy, but copying it does not guarantee the same result against different opponents.
The update
Nice’s video-game competition now has a winner. Bulbagarden’s results report names Louis Fontvieille as champion, with Eduardo Cunha finishing second in the Pokémon Champions division.
The Nice event ran October 17–18, with 862 competitors in its video-game division, according to Bulbagarden. Fontvieille’s win was their third Regional title and secured an invitation to the next World Championships. Their team was headed by Mega Golisopod and Mega Raichu X.
Eduardo Cunha placed second, with Simone Sanvito and Francesco Pio Pero reaching the top four. The report links detailed team lists for readers who want to inspect individual selections. These standings update our earlier finals preview; they should not be read as the results of Nice’s separate card-game or GO competitions.
