Pokémon GO: New Profile Backgrounds
New backgrounds appear on Trainer Profiles based on Buddy Pokémon locations.
Before we dive in
Pokémon GO is a mobile game about discovering and collecting Pokémon. Players catch Pokémon, hatch Eggs and trade with other players to build their collections.
Events change which Pokémon and activities are available for a limited time. A Shiny Pokémon has a different colour scheme; an event debut does not mean every encounter will be Shiny. Check the announced dates before planning your playtime.
The update
Pokémon GO updates profiles with location-based backgrounds, starting November 6th and 9th locally, adding a new feature for players to showcase their adventures.
Starting November 6th at 10:00 local time, GO Wild Area 2026 location backgrounds will appear on the Trainer Profile if the Buddy Pokémon has one. From November 9th at 10:00 local time, all prior Location Backgrounds will then appear on the Trainer Profile.
Additional Special Backgrounds will be added to this feature in the future, allowing for more customization options for players to showcase their Pokémon adventures.
